Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! My hubby went above and beyond to make sure today was extra special including surprising me with beautiful flowers at work, a sweet card, and then to top it all off he cooked an amazing dinner tonight. I wish this day didn't have to end so soon. :)

Here's a peak at the Valentine cookies I made for hubby.  I can't take credit for the idea though.  Just another awesome idea I found on Pinterest. You can personalize the cookies however you like. I made a dozen cookies in all. A few of the other ones said, I love you more than... "Naps", "Sushi", and "Starbucks".

It's been an extremely busy week at work.  Monday and Tuesday were Paczki days. Then Wednesday and today were consumed by dozens and dozens of Valentine's Day cupcake, cookie, and cake orders.  Here are the cakes I made for the showcase this morning.  I tried to create a wide variety of cakes and was happy to see that they sold out by noon today.

Happy Valentine's Day to you and yours!

Bee Mine

Valentine's Day is less than 2 weeks away.  Do you know what you'll be making or buying your sweetie this year?

These "Bee" Mine cupcakes are made out of chocolate cake, filled with cream, and dipped in chocolate ganache! Yum!!!

Kit Kat M&M Cake

Did everyone have a nice Valentine's Day? Here's what I made for my hubby. I made him take it to work so that I wouldn't consume 20 Kit Kats and 1/2 bag of M&M's in one day! This awesome idea came from Pinterest.

Just ice any 2-layer cake with buttercream (I used a yellow cake with white icing), attach regular size Kit Kats to the side (I think I used 12 or 13 packs), dump a bag of M&M's on top and decorate with a ribbon. Super easy, yet super impressive!

Simple Heart Cake Dessert

I love summer. One of my favorite things about summer is our local farmer's market. My preschooler and I headed there this past weekend and came home with fresh green beans, tomatoes, blueberries, and raspberries. Yum!

I needed to use up some of the raspberries so I searched some of my favorite food blogs and saw this adorable dessert. Not only is it such a great idea but it also tastes great and only takes a couple minutes to throw together.

It was a big hit with my family. I'll have to remember this recipe once Valentine's Day rolls around. Or perhaps I'll make it for our anniversary next year. It's too cute of a recipe to not make again...and again!

Bubble Gum Martini

I saw this recipe on my friend's blog and wanted to try it. I don't drink very often but I do love a good martini every once in awhile. My favorite ones usually have chocolate in them, like the Yin Yang Martini I had at The Melting Pot a couple months ago. Mmmmm!

I love bubble gum and lemonade too. Put those two things together and you have a delicious drink! This was so good! Thanks K for sharing this recipe with me!!!

Valentine Rice Krispie Treats

I'm the Room Parent for my 4 year-old's preschool class so I was responsible for bringing juice boxes and a Valentine treat for their class party. After thinking about it for awhile, I decided to make Rice Krispie treats. What kid doesn't like Rice Krispie treats?!?! I added a little red food coloring and some Valentine sprinkles and Voila we had Valentine Rice Krispies!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!!

Heart Mini Meatloaves

Curious what I made for my hubby this Valentine's weekend?

Mini Meatloaves in the shape of HEARTS, green beans, crescents, and pink martinis. Ok, the pink martinis were for me and I'll have more to come about those in a few days. :)

I've posted this recipe for Mini Meatloaves before. (Click on the link to go to the recipe.) They are a favorite of ours and I make them often, only this time I made them into hearts. I just put a heart shaped cookie cutter on my cookie sheet, packed it with the meatloaf mixture and then slid the cookie cutter off. They turned out delicious like always and this time they were extra cute. Exactly what I needed for my Valentine!

Easy Oreo Truffles

I wanted to make something festive for my hubby to take to work and share with his co-workers for Valentine's. Last week I bought some really cute Valentine sprinkles from Target. The first thing that came to mind (that wasn't on my blog yet) were Oreo Truffles! I've made these several times before and each time everyone rants and raves about how awesome they are. Hopefully his co-workers will enjoy them as well.

These would be a perfect treat to make for your honey this Valentine's Day!

Valentine's Pizza

Here's a new twist for your Valentine's Pizza this year.

Instead of shaping the pizza dough into a heart, try using a mini cookie cutter to cut pepperoni slices into hearts. Isn't this adorable? I got this cute idea from a blog called Gordon Gossip.

You can make your pizza from scratch or buy one from the store and put your heart pepperoni on top.

Happy {early} Valentine's Day!!!
